We are using 2 level hierarchy - EPIC and TASK in our JIRA. We are looking to link multiple tasks/issues to a task to ensure completion of a parent issue should be blocked by Linked issues completion.
We understand that this can be done through automation.
However, the issue is how to VIEW these linked issues in a tree/hierarchy structure in JIRA?
We are not currently looking to install any 3rd party PAID application due to pricing constraints.
Hi @Aakash Khurana welcome to the community!
Smart Hierarchy might fit your needs. It's free and easy to use.
With the tool you can view all issues in the hierarchy under the epic from any Jira task and navigate from one issue to another. However, I'm not sure if it allows you to view linked issues...
welcome to the community!
I understand the potential cost factor, but I'm not aware of this being available as a native functionality in Jira. Customers typically rely on apps from the Atlassian Marketplace for your use case.
If an app should become an option for you, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies. These issue hierarchies can be based on Jira's built-in parent/child relationships (like task/sub-task, or epic/story), and/or based on issue links of configurable issue link types.
This is is a hierarchy based on issue links of type relates to:
As you can see above, you can also inline-create new issues into your hierarchy. Behind the scenes, JXL will create all necessary issue links for you. You can also move your issues within your hierarchy via drag and drop.
I should add that JXL can do much more than the above: From support for sum-ups, to conditional formatting, or inline bulk editing via copy/paste.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes

Hi @Aakash Khurana ,
Can you just clarify if you're looking at visualizing linked issues on Timeline? Timeline is connected to a board and the board must contain issues from only one project. Still, as for linked issues on Timeline, only blocks/is blocked by link relations will be displayed.
As for the List view, I didn't manage to find any open suggestions/feature requests related to that. However you might want to have additional check: JAC
For Timeline, you might want to check the following suggestions: component = "Timeline - View"
As an alternative, you could use global Jira search and add Linked Issues column to a view:
As for suggestion to view all link relations on Timeline or in List views, you could also reach out to Atlassian Support as they can maybe open a new suggestion on JAC on which you can vote and leave comment(s).
Cheers,
Tobi
