How to send an automatic notification that Release xx has been deployed?

I want JIRA to automatically notify all of the team when a release is deployed to production but can't see a way to do this. Anyone done this?

Easiest way is to create an issue for the deployment task and add a post function to the workflow to send out an email when the issue is transitioned to Done.
