How to show a custom field type "Date Picker" in the View issue screen

It is probably not possible or at least not easy, but worth to try...

Does anyone know a way to show a custom field type "Date Picker" in one of the tabs of my View issue screen instead of on the right panel (where all the dates are shown)?

I know there is a JIRA rule for date fields and all of them appear on the right panel by default, but I was wondering if there is a workaround for that.

I suspect you'll need to go into the code to modify it. Think carefully, as you'll have to fix the code with every update.

I was trying to avoid that, but... ok. If there are no other answers, I will take this as the right one ;)
