How to show completed stories in the Plan > Roadmap view?

I'm trying to create a visualization of a large project containing many epics and I want to see the progress as a % complete in terms of story points. I have that set up by customizing the Plan > Roadmap view and showing the "Progress (story points)" field except that epics already closed ("Resolved") are not shown. That means in the long run of the project the percent complete sort of goes up and down (decreasing when an individual epic is marked closed).

In the attached picture, you can see I have Milestones 2, 3 and 4, but Milestone 1 of that project is not displayed because it is already completed.

Is there a way to simply include closed epics in the Plan > Roadmap view, including their story points in the grand total and in the progress bar?

Hi,

The reason closed epics are not appearing might be due to filters that exclude completed items. Check the filters applied to your Roadmap view. Ensure that the filter for Resolved or Closed status is not active, or update it to include completed issues.

In some cases, you may need to adjust the settings to include completed epics. This can be done by modifying the roadmap configuration settings. Look for an option like Show resolved issues or Include closed issues in the view, and enable it.

When you view the Progress (story points) field, make sure the story points from completed epics are included in the total calculation. If they're being excluded, you may need to adjust the JQL query or the board settings to ensure they contribute to the progress bar.

If there are limitations within the Roadmap view itself, you can consider creating a custom field or using a plugin to show closed epics in a way that aligns with your desired visual progress.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, that's helpful! In fact I found the crucial setting, which was in the "gear" settings configuration for the Plan, under which there is an "Exclusion Rules" section, and in there was a setting, "Enter the number of days after which issues marked as done will stop showing in the plan*". This was set to 30 days, which is why some of my completed stories weren't showing up. I changed that to 300 and now I see them—and that's enough for now. Thanks!
