How to switch on Jelly?

As told by docu I added "jira.jelly.on=true" to ~jira/jira-config.properties (Linux) and restarted jira. The log ~jira/log/atlassian-jira.log tells me that jelly should be on:

jira.jelly.on : true

But later:

2012-02-14 10:26:33,139 QuartzWorker-1 ERROR ServiceRunner jelly-0 [atlassian.jira.service.ServiceRunner] An error occured while trying to run service 'jelly-0'. Can not run script because jelly is not turned on.

What did run wrong?

There is a class file "./atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/com/atlassian/jira/jelly/JiraJelly.class" which contains strings like "JELLY_NOT_ON_MESSAGE", "2Can not run script because jelly is not turned on.". Is that ok?

Thanks in advance,

Andi

Hi Andi, have you tried setting JAVA_OPTS= -Djira.jelly.on=true in sentenv.sh and restarting JIRA? Instructions available at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Jelly+Tags Andrew.

Thank you - ~jira/bin/setenv.sh seems to be the only one place for this config.

You're welcome. If my suggestion worked could you mark the question as correct.

Thanks,

Andrew.
