How to turn off the 'Id.atalassian.net' authentication for Cloud Instance?

Gaurav Gupta June 11, 2018

Currently, for logging into cloud instance, we need to provide the email address on the 'id.atlassian.net' web link and then it redirects taking the Windows Login to the Actual JIRA Page.

Is there a way to authenticate the Cloud JIRA Instance only with the Windows Login and remove the first layer which is asking for the email address.

This is causing a problem while using the plugin from the Atlasssian Market.

Thanks

Gaurav

Back in 2017, Atlassian had implemented Atlassian Account (id.atlassian.com) on the Cloud products.

Because of this, the authentication no longer be done in the instance itself. Instead, the authentication is performed by id.atlassian.com. This is to allow users to single sign-on to multiple Atlassian products as described in Atlassian account for users.

That being said, it's not possible to disable id.atlassian.com from the login page as JIRA doesn't store the user password and the authentication is done by id.atlassian.com.
