How to update Jira ticket from "On Hold" to "In QA"?

Elbert John May 29, 2019

The ticket was currently in "In QA" status and I clicked the "On Hold" button by mistake. Now I don't know how to put it back to "In QA" status again.

I am only seeing two buttons - "To Do" and "On Hold"

Please help. Thanks!

1. Click the "To Do" button to move it on the To Do column of the Kanban board.

2. Drag the ticket to the Ready For Development column.

3. Open the ticket and select "In Development" to update the status to "In Progress".

4. Then you can now select the "Send For Testing" option to update the status to "In QA".

This just means that the Status "In QA" does not have a transition back to "On Hold".  You can click on the workflow to view what the transition path is back to the status "In QA".  If a there is not a transition back to the status you will need to work with your administrator to make a transition back to the status.
