For a particular task, we need to create templated JIRA issue with relevant templated child issues.
For example, every time we want to add a student to a class, we need to create an issue called "Add student to class" with templated description (such as Name, age, description so on and so forth), but we also need to create child issues such as "Add student to Math lesson", "Add student to English lesson" etc, each child issue also have their templated descriptions and assignees etc and link them to the parent issue. We have to do this every single time we add student to class.
In this case, is Atlassian AI able to do this? I am aware they have a "child issue suggestion", but does this suggestion also create the child issue together with its templated description?
Hi @huiwen.leong and welcome to the community!
To create templated Jira issues with child issues as described, you might want to explore using our app Deep Clone for Jira. This app allows you to clone not only Jira issues but also entire issue hierarchies, including child issues, with descriptions and other fields pre-filled. It would help automate the process you're describing by allowing you to clone an entire issue structure, saving time and ensuring consistency.
Welcome @huiwen.leong
The AI does create the child issues based on the description that it was given from a parent issue. Also, I see that you want to have a template, which is something that the AI doesn't really support. There is a workaround - 2 actually:
