So I have a few places I track releases, and I would love to close out a Jira release and have that process send the release information(Title, Descriptions, Jira Tickets) to those other places. For example we use a metric tool, that we can send the release information to through their API to update that place, but I haven't found a way to do this from Jira. Not sure if we can trigger those data transfers through Jira. Wondering if anyone else has done anything similar? I have used a project management tool that was able to send release info to Jira and create/link to the release, but that is a little different.
Look under the Webhooks option (Cog->System->Webhook):
https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/webhooks/
You can configure it to send the info to your metric tool when a version is released for example.
Awesome thanks Michael, this looks like it would work. I will give it a shot.
