How to use multiple if condition along with Lookup Issues

Prashantha Kumari December 15, 2022

Hello Team,

I am trying jira automation rule with compare two values and search issues using JQL  If Lookup issue is not empty  then it will create link.

This works attached the screenshot. But i need to compare 2 set of values. Inside if condition compared few values , search issues using JQL and else if compare few condition, once again search issues using JQL . If any of if condition matches then create link. But nested if condition used i can't value of {{lookupissues}} outside if condition in a rule. Could you please suggest how to write automation rule?

Thanks,

Hi @Prashantha Kumari -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I suggest taking a look at this information on list filtering: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Automation-articles/Filtering-smart-value-lists/ba-p/1827588

And this one on the and() function for conditional filtering: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-conditional-logic/#and

If those do not help, please post images of your complete rule, the audit log details showing the rule execution, and explain how it is not working how you expect.  That may provide context for the community to offer suggestions.  Thanks!

Kind regards,
Bill

Can you provide a better explanation using some realistic examples?
