Using Jira Portfolio, I have created a project called Initiatives (with the Initiative issue type). I have an existing legacy project called Development. I have the epics created under development and now i am tagging them under numerous initiatives in the initiative project i have created. Now, in the gantt chart, I want to see by initiative, a view of the initiative, the epic and the stories for one particular initiative only. Is that possible with the way I have set it up?
Hi @[deleted],
Can you please provide further details about what do you refer when mentioning "Gantt chart"?
Regards,
So I want to see on the timeline - the initiative - then beneath that the epic and then beneath that the stories, so you can see one holistic view of your initiative and everything in it. At the moment I can only see the initiative or the epics or the stories. I would like to see it almost in your typical MS project type view. Is that possible in portfolio or have I just set it up wrong?

Ah! I was assuming it but not sure, I added a tag to Portfolio on this question.
If I understood well, you have the following structure:
- Initiative
+Epic
-Story
-Story
+Epic
-Story
-...
This structure seems fine and you should see the gantt accordingly based on releases and version as described here https://www.atlassian.com/agile/project-management/epics-stories-themes
If not, what are you seeing instead?

I have created a plan based upon the two project i have which are:
Development
Initiatives
As i mentioned - the Initiative issue type is at project "initiative" level, and the epic and stories issue types are at the "development" project level.
I want to see in a timeline, on one page, a particular initiative, with all the Epics and stories associated with it built in a timeline.
Now on Portfolio, as I see it, in the top left, it allows you to build the graphic by initiative, or by Epic or by story - and not by all three.

Hi, Andrew. To answer your question, the community members will need to know which Jira app you are using to generate your Gantt charts. Let us know which one you are using and I am sure someone will chime in ;)
Hope this helps,

In that case, I'm sure someone who knows Portfolio for Jira Cloud will help you if they can. Good luck!
