I am not able to change project key. input field found disabled

I want to change project key, but the input field is disabled. Can we change it?

Steps I have taken

1. Choose > Projects, and select the relevant project..
2. Locate the project that you'd like to change.
3. Select Edit in the Actions column of the project you want to change.
4. Edit the project key, and click Save details. Only project types for applications you have installed will be available.

welcome to the Atlassian community!

As specified here, you need specific rights to do that :

• Only Jira admins can edit the key in a company-managed project

• Project admins can edit the key in a team-managed project

Probably you are a project admin in a company-managed project.

Hey @Sudheep Chandran  Welcome to Atlassian Community !!

You need to have Jira Product Admin permission to change the project key.

Usually if you are project admin and able to see settings option the project key input field is disabled.

Check with Jira admin and get it changed.
