I am unable to add a user to this environment

Chak Velvadapu October 22, 2012

I am unable to add a user to this preprod environment.

We have only 10 licenses for this environment and when data was imported from our live instance, we were told that there will be no issue with the licenses as the user accounts will not be active.

When i go into adding a user, i get a message that i have no licenses remaining. I was able to create a user (name = ecmf test user) but unable to give the application access to JIRA. I see the jira checkbox but when i click on the checkbox, i get message license exceeded.

Can i get a list of the 10 users against which the licenses are counting against?

If so, Can i change the licenses to the 10 user accounts that i need active in this instance?

OR should i just delete ALL users (except me) in this instance and recreate users as needed?

Hi Chak,

I guess you're using JIRA standalone, aren't you? And how about User Directory are you using Locally or LDAP, AD?

Have you checked if JIRA license is activated either? You'll be able to check navigating to Admnistration >> System >> License.

On the other hand running JIRA OnDemand you'll have to define user limit in the Application Access of your environment.

I hope it helps.
