I am unable to assign an issue to any user

When I create a new issue, the assignee defaults to 'unassigned', this seems normal.

I then try to change this and I am not able to. It is not selectable.

This feature was working about 3 hours ago and now it is not.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Hi John,

Two things come to mind:

• Assign Issues permission -- check if you are eligible to assign issues for this specific project (Project settings >> Permissions)
• Assignee field removed from Edit Issue screen -- check if the Assignee field is selected for the Edit Issue screen (Project Summary >> Issue Type Screen Scheme and check the Edit Issue screen associated to the problematic issue type)
