I am unable to change the story status, it's automatically changes with task status.

Hi, Consider a scenario that there are multiple tasks that needs to be done for a story. Now all these tasks are to be performed at different status like release notes will be created when we reach QA passed and preparing for Production release . Can I move the story to forward status even if some tasks are not started ?

Hello,

By default statuses of different issues in Jira are not connected. It means that if you change a status in one issue, the the status of another issue will not be changed. It means that if your issues change status depending on other issues, you have some kind of customization. Ask your Jira administrator.

In my case I want to change the status of the story but unable to do so , till the time all the tasks are done .

It means that your Jira administrator customized the Jira , you are using. Ask the Jira administrator. It can not be done out of the box. It must be one of the multiple apps available in the Marketplace.
