I have attempted to turn on the Story Points field in one of my projects in every place I can find, but I can't seem to get it to actually appear in any of my tickets.
In fact, it appears for a *moment* and then disappears right in front of me. What's the deal?
If you can switch to the old view, you can use the priceless admin->where is my field? feature to find your field.
BTW. How to use where is my field? in the new view?

Are you on Cloud or Server? If on Cloud, do you have a next-gen or classic project? You are looking at it in the New Issue View, Old issue view or in a board?
Basically, the Story Points field will be visible on the View Issue Screen only if you set a value to this field. You can set a value to the screen on the Edit issue view.
Also if you open your issue in the create, edit or view screen, look for the admin->Where is my field option. It will tell you why your field is absent from the screen.
