I closed a sprint and started a new sprint and when I looked at my new sprint, there were old items

Heather Driscoll April 1, 2025

There were closed items that were automatically rolled into my new sprint that was closed a long time ago. I never added them. There seems to be a glitch. I even tried to reassign the old work items that were marked as done into their originally assigned sprint but it won't allow me because it was closed. Can someone help me? I want to fix this before it messes up our velocity.

Hi @Heather Driscoll

Please review your board settings to ensure that all completed work statuses (such as 'Closed' or 'Resolved') are correctly mapped to the 'Done' column.

This configuration is essential to prevent Jira from automatically moving these issues into new sprints

I started a new sprint and assigned new items that we chose to add from our sprint planning. When I started the sprint, it automatically pulled in closed items that were completed last year in another sprint.  All of these items that were automatically pulled in are from one specific sprint that has already been closed a long time ago. These items don't appear related in any way to our current sprint items. So, we are not sure why they magically appeared.
