Hi @Duong Thi Thanh Xuan ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The behavior you are reporting in here seems to be the same one described in the below bug ticket:

Specifically:

Steps to Reproduce

  1. While viewing an issue using the old view, upload an attachment straight from the clipboard and give it a name;

  2. View the same issue using the new view

Expected Results

The name defined in the old view remains while viewing the issue through the new view.

Actual Results

Jira will display a generic name on the attachment.

As a workaround for this issue you may want to disable the new issue view (this won't affect business boards and next-gen projects) as mentioned in the bug ticket.

Please vote and add yourself as a watcher to the bug ticket so that you will be notified in case of any update/progress. This bug will be addressed according to the Atlassian Cloud bug fixing policy.

Kindly let us know if this is not the behavior you were reporting (and provide more details if that's the case) or if you have any other question or concern on this topic.

Cheers,
Dario

Dear @jira

Thank you for your answer.

Actually, I do not care about naming attached file.

I mean when I comment in issue in new view, I can not find any way to attach the files that were attached in other comment before.

I could not view all attachments one time (I need to load all comment to view them).

Because I want to view, tag the file to my new comment or download many time.

Regards,

Xuan

Hi @Duong Thi Thanh Xuan ,

Thanks for providing more details, from what I read above I understand that the issue here is that when attaching files and images in the new issue view, those are not available then to be displayed when adding a new comment.

If this is the case then this is indeed a different issue tracked as:

Can you kindly confirm my understanding is correct or provide more details (a list of steps to follow in order to reproduce the issue together with some screenshots would be optimal).

Cheers,
Dario

@Dario B

I mean when I attached an image in my comment before, but when I want to tag it in my new comment, it seems impossible in new view.

I have to change to old view instead. So it will be good if I could reference my old attachment in new comment.

If there still is a way, please let us know.

Thank you

@Duong Thi Thanh Xuan ,

That's the issue mentioned in my second answer (above) and tracked as [JRACLOUD-72208]. Until this is fixed the only workaround is indeed to disable the new UI and switch back to the old one.

You can disable the new issue view by either:

  • Click on your avatar (bottom  left section of the screen), Select Personal Settings and switch of the switch under "Atlassian Labs"
  • Add ?oldIssueView=true to the url of the issues you want to see using the old UI

However, as mentioned in the personal settings page, please note that:

The new issue view is on for all business boards and next-gen projects, so this won't affect them.

Cheers,
Dario
