Recently I changed the permissions per group and projects so a group can only access what is necessary for them to see and only change what is theirs to change.
Now one of the users mentiones that he can not change the time estimate on a ticket in a sprint anymore.
Step 1: go to project
Step 2: go to active sprint and click on one of the tickets
Step 3: click on the time estimate field and change the estimate from 1hr to 1hr 30m
Expected: time is changed
Actual: he gets an error saying "validation failed"
I tested this myself as an admin and I do not get the error message when trying to change the time as I have full access on the project and within that group. As a similar normal user within the group with group access level I also get the same error when changing the time.
In the permission fields they should be able to change the time for their own tickets so hoping that someone has experienced the same issue and can help me out with resolving it.
Hi Sylvia,
Could you share with us if there are any Validators for the transition that the user are trying to achieve?
To view the Validator, you can follow the steps below:
From here, verify if the user has the permission to bypass the Validator. Otherwise, please do share here for us to better understand the workflow configuration.
In the meantime, feel free to have a read of this documentation: Validators

Hi Syauqi,
I am experiencing the same problem as Sylvia.
I have followed your steps and the only Validator I found was: Only users with Create Issues permission can execute this transition for creating tasks.
I went into permissions and allowed all users to Create Issues, but the Time Estimate still cannot be changed. Strangely enough, I'm an Admin and I cannot change the time estimate either, I'm getting "validation failed" on every issue I try to change the time for.
I've checked all other permissions, and the Admin group which I am part of has all permissions enabled.
Another, possibly related, issue I have is trying to change the Time remaining:
When I click Save, I get the following error:
I can add Log time and Save, that works without problems.
Thanks,
Aleks
