Dear Jira users

I have a  custom field that is linked to multiple screens how can I exclude projects from also seeing this field.
I know the option << Contexts and default value >> to assign projects here but I would prefer to link this to a schema so it is easier to manage.
Is this possible ?
When I look at creating an issue and then look << where is my Field << I get the only option.
See print screen. How can I set this up other than adding projects.

Hi Eric!

You're right that field context is how a field is "turned on or off" for a given project or issuetype. It looks like your "WBS-code" field already has a context configured for it, and the "Where is my field" feature is telling you is that the context is not configured with the current project or issue type you're looking at

So if your goal is to turn on the field for this project/issuetype, then I think you want to edit the field's context

Your original question was "How can I exclude other projects from seeing this field", and given that the field has a context already, it seems like that exclusion is already set up. But you'd need to look at the context config to see how it's configured

I hope that's helpful
