I have faced an issue in Backlog. Suppose I have total 545 issues in Backlog. Now I selected to view only 500 issues from show button. After this still Backlog is showing 545 issues in number just its right side as shown in the screenshot while under backlog it is giving only 500 issues .

From below example you can see I have selected to see only 500 issues but it is still showing ng 545 issues here:Backlogissue.PNG

see the attachement .

The 545 number is the total number of items in your backlog.

You can (and should) be ranking the issues in your backlog from most important to least important.

The show "100 issues" or "500 issues" options then reduces your viewing of the 545  issues to the selection. So show 500 issues means: of the 545 issues in your backlog, it is only showing the top 500 issues.

If you want the 545 number to match the 500 number, your much remove 45 issues from your backlog (by deleting, closing, or moving them to a new project)
