Did you mean:

I'm looking for some software suggestions.

Deleted user February 1, 2019

Hi, I'm looking for software that meet some criteria:

A knowledge base software for document storage that is (like a collaborative wiki of some sort)

Compatible with JIRA but is standalone by itself (in case we separate from JIRA)

That has an edit authorization for selective accounts (so we can give permission to accounts to edit certain things)

Be able to create custom templates

And API would be nice

I've been told confluence is able to do these things, but I'm trying to weigh my options if there are any.

Thank you

Hi Jon,

Confluence should meet most of your needs:

A knowledge base software for document storage that is (like a collaborative wiki of some sort)

  • My team all collaborates on our knowledge base articles on Confluence.  Pages can also host files.

Compatible with JIRA but is standalone by itself (in case we separate from JIRA)

  • Compatible with JIRA, with several built-in macros to enhance usability.

That has an edit authorization for selective accounts (so we can give permission to accounts to edit certain things)

  • Permissions are granted for users/user groups by space, but can be restricted on a page level (spaces host pages).

Be able to create custom templates

  • You can create a new page from a preset template, or add your own templates to choose from.

And API would be nice

If you're interested you can try Confluence Cloud for 7 days, or Server for 30.

Good luck!
