I migrated to Cloud only ONE PROJECT as a MIGRATION TEST - Should I delete it and migrate again?

Giovanni Cardillo September 16, 2024

Hi,

I completed all the steps of preparation with my Jira Migration Assistant and later on I migrated to Cloud only ONE REAL PROJECT as a MIGRATION TEST about a week ago.

I checked and everything seemed good with my migrated project.

But during this very week, my REAL PROJECT in the original instance "evolved", with new tasks and comments made after the MIGRATION TEST.

(!) Can I migrate only for the differences of the same project or maybe should I delete the whole project from the cloud and migrate fully again?

I plan to migrate all the other 30 projects in the next 7-10 days.

Thanks

Giovanni

@Giovanni Cardillo

When you attempt to do your next migration, if you select that same project from your source Jira, it will override the data you had in your destination Jira.  I don't think you can cherry pick specific issues within a project, so, you'll just get all the latest from your source Jira. . . which is what I think you want.

I would also recommend you look in the Atlassian marketplace to see if there are any new options that allow you more flexibility when doing migrations.  Maybe something from Appfire.
