I need to change the Project Lead. I am admin. online suggestions no help. pls advise

Trying to chg the project lead on a new project/board I created from myself to the real project lead.  So far, even with admin rights not able to change.  I am listed as lead, with no option to replace.

Try these steps, they may work:

Project Settings:
Go to details and change the project lead. Begin typing the correct name of the user you want to change and verify if they have project admin permissions.

Project Settings > Users and roles > Edit Defaults (link on upper right-hand side)

Select the drop-down list under the project lead text box. You will see the old name initially, but as you start typing the new name in that box, it will overwrite the old name, enabling you to update the Project Lead.

Navigate to the project Settings page from the left navigation side bar, click on the Details. On the right you can see the Project lead - updating that changes the lead.
