I need to clone the existing project's configuration and all

I need to clone an existing project and create a new one with the same configurations, workflows, and issue types. Since it seems this isn't possible automatically, I was attempting to manually review the schemes and workflows used by the existing project to apply them to the new project. However, I'm unable to see a summary or determine which workflow is used by the current project. How should I proceed6B97167D-FAF3-45B6-AA90-1A3EB846F77A.jpeg

Hi @Ayush Pathak

This is quite common when we create a new project, too.

In terms of Workflow, it is an Issue Type Workflow Configuration scheme where you define the mapping of your issue types to workflows.

To identify the skeleton of the project configuration, you can open the project settings of the existing project, check the configuration schemas there, and then apply them to the new project. What we typically do is the following:

  • Workflows -> Issue type workflow configuration scheme (you might need to adjust your Issue type scheme before)
  • Permissions - Permission schema
  • Notifications - we disable them by default, but you may have them in your case
  • Issue -> types - Issue type configuration scheme
  • Issue -> screens -> Issue type screen configuration scheme
  • Issue -> fields -> Issue field configuration scheme
  • Issue -> security -> Issue security configuration scheme

If your existing project contains some details Jira configuration schemes then they are applied automatically to a newly created one, no changes are needed.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Ayush Pathak

If you are willing to try a third-party app, you can try our Deep Clone for Jira.

With Advanced Project Clone configured, Deep Clone can clone a team-managed project in including its schemes and configuration.
