Hi @anytao ,

There is no built-in (native) reminder feature available directly in Jira Cloud. If you're open to using a third-party app, I recommend Reminders. It allows you to create reminders directly on the issue for any specific date and time. You can also send instant reminders using the "Poke" feature. Additionally, if you use tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams or Google Chat, you can send reminders to selected channels within those platforms.

You can either set a specific date for a reminder, or use the "Relative Reminder" feature to trigger reminders based on a date field within the Jira issue — ensuring the reminder is sent on the relevant date.

Reminders can be easily created via the "Create Reminder" button on the right panel of the issue view. There is also a "My Reminders" page where you can view and manage all the reminders you've created, along with their current statuses.

Additionally, Issue Reminders provides a post function that allows you to automatically create reminders during workflow transitions. By adding the relevant reminder details to your workflow configuration, you can ensure that reminders are triggered based on status changes without manual input.

Hi @anytao ,

You’re right — sometimes a good reminder is exactly what helps to stay on track 🙂

In Jira Cloud there isn’t a built-in reminder feature, but our app Reminder for Jira Cloud was designed to fill this gap. With it, you can quickly create reminders for yourself or your teammates — either tied to an issue or completely standalone.

A few highlights:

  • Quick reminders (like “Tomorrow” or “In a week”) for one-click scheduling.

  • Custom reminders where you can set your own text, timing, and repeat options (daily, weekly, monthly, etc).

  • Send to others — notify specific users or groups, not just yourself.

  • Standalone reminders for tasks not linked to issues.

  • “My Reminders” page to keep everything in one place, plus new filters and dark theme.

  • You can even post reminders directly as issue comments with mentions.
