I would like to JQL query Activity?

I can see what I am looking for in the browser with this url: <domain>/projects/<projectname>/summary. Now, I would like to do a curl request to retrieve the same data. It seems like Jira JQL is only good for a "SELECT * " on issues only. Am I missing something?
