I am looking for an asset manager that syncs well with Jira, ideally something that is able to discover devices remotely and on the local LAN.
Any suggestions?
Check the Assets Discovery. Developed by Atlassian and offered for free. It works with both Jira Cloud and Data Center. It can scan Linux/Windows machines as well as SNMP devices in your network and then upload results to the "Assets" feature in Jira.
Thank you, Marek; this would be very helpful and solve my dilemma if it supported macOS. Oh well, let's hope that is an option later.

Hi @Dale White ,
Welcome to the community!
You seem to be on Cloud and the Standard plan. My recommendation is to change to the Premium Plan to unlock the Asset feature in Jira. It is bundled in the Jira Service Managment product so you need licenses to that too.
best regards
Lisa

Once you have Assets in Jira it you can use it in any kind of project in Jira.
It also holds discovery features see more doc on this here
And if you have external repositories of asset data you can sync this with the Jira Assets using the standard import features or explore the marketplace for importer apps for many of the usual applications like Intune, Azure AD, Salesforce etc
all the best
Lisa

Thank you, Lisa. The importer app will definitely come in handy in the future.
