If JIRA does time tracking for Issues, what additional benefits do I get from using Tempo?

Issue Level Time-Tracking

Specify work estimates for each issue and log work as you go. JIRArolls up time tracking data across sub-tasks and maintains the time spent and remaining estimate fortracking and reporting.

That is all you got from the website?

We are just starting to use it - but it seems to have a lot of features.

Many are not covered in the links above, such as:

- options to control how far into the future you can log time

- the option to log work against non-editable closed issues (it actually opens, edits and closes but that is hidden from the users)

It is quite configurable.
