If we added any single dropdown custom field in Jira front end will that causes Database corruption

Hello Team,

Can i get some information that,  If we added any single select  dropdown custom field in Jira Pre-prod front end will that be causes pre-prod DB  corruption.I request you to provide info on this.

Steps i have followed are simple

1. Created new custom feild as single select dropdown.

Can I just clarify, are you seeing an error message or something similar?

You mention it could impact your pre-prod environment - is this separate to Jira, or do you have another Jira instance (eg. a Sandbox) which you use as a pre-prod?

Adding fields does not corrupt your database, but if you add it in pre-prod then you should add it to prod as well, or you will have a mismatch upstream.

That is assuming you follow the practice of pushing code upstream and data downstream?
