Import configuration from a sandbox to productive server

Alina_Seitan-Todosiciuc September 24, 2024

I have created, workflows, screen, custom fields on a sandbox server. Tested with all colleagues improved.

I would like to know if it is possible to import all in the productive server?

Currently the only solution I see is to recreate one by one.. but it is time consuming and errors easily can appear.

Hi Alina,

I'm afraid there's no native way to do so.

There are a few marketplace apps that can help with that and much more around configuration management for Jira (also config visibility, backup, rollbacks, back-promotions from production to sandbox, etc.).

I'm the CTO of one of these solutions - Salto , there's a free trial, and we're always eager to help.

Good luck!

Gil

Hi @Alina_Seitan-Todosiciuc

Welcome to the Atlassian community! Unfortunately there is no native solution to address the use case you are calling out.

I am from Revyz, we help Atlassian cloud customers with their data management needs. Our solution helps you address the following use cases:

1. Backup & Granular Restore of Jira / JSM configuration and projects

2. Backup & Granular Restore of Assets

3. Copying data / Configuration from Sandbox to Production

4. Security Analytics -> Who deleted what and when

5. Admin focussed Analytics -> Easy way to identify what changed and more

6. Ability to bulk cleanup your Jira site

The Revyz apps are available through the Atlassian Marketplace. Here is a link to what we support and more importantly what we do not support. As we are dependent on Atlassian API's

In addition here are some pointers with regards to Cloud security that might be useful to you:

- Atlassian Security Practices

We do not use these backups to revert customer-initiated destructive changes, such as fields overwritten using scripts, or deleted issues, projects, or sites. To avoid data loss, we recommend making regular backups.

- Atlassian Cloud Security Shared Responsibilities

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Vish
