Importing Epic Name from CSV

Deleted user August 29, 2018

I try to import a list of epics and stories from csv file, based on the simple examples in the documentation.

At the last step, I get this error: "For the CSV import to be successful, you must specify a CSV header row that corresponds to the Project type. Available project types are: software, business."

Where can I find:

1) the required syntax, the required fields for a software project type

2) a working non-trivial example that I can work from and modify.

Thx in advance

Hi Arne,

The column heading is "Project type" and values are "software", "business" or "service desk". You might also need to add "Project name" and "Project key" columns as well for the import to work.

Hmm, I am quite dissappointed with Atlassians documentation.  It should be possible to find a non-trivial example of CSV file for import of a software project etc..

I am currently running a company's local JIRA server, so at some point in time, I might want to move the project we build now - over til the cloud solution. So also there I think the import function will be needed.

but for now the purpose is to import a list of activities from Excel ...
