I am trying to import data via the bulk csv import to create new issues in Jira, but my custom field is not listed as an option when I try to map them. Is it still a requirement for the custom field to exist on the creation screen when adding from the Jira UI?
Hi there, when doing a bulk csv import you have to make sure the custom field is added to the create screen for the work type you are trying to create and any other screen you want this infromation to appear on.

They could be the problem - add it to the Create screen long enough to see.
Also, what type of field is it exactly?

Good point, John. Depending on the type of field, you will need to make sure the data you are importing is compatible with the field type and values accepted by that field type.
