Since our upgrade to Jira 9.4.5 (v9.4.5#940005-sha1:e309493, from v8.20.13#820013-sha1:e83256f), I see the following issue.
(And a manual page refresh then does show the real 'Updated:' value; it was actually updated in the database.)
Note that 'Updated:' was updated fine in 8.20.13; and in 9.4.5 it is still updated fine when editing a comment, or editing the description, or things like that.
Is this a known issue? Any known fix or workaround? Thanks!
Hello @Marnix Klooster ,
I have logged a new bug for this: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-76257
I request you add yourself as a watcher to stay updated on the progress of the bug.
Currently, understand workaround is refreshing the page should show the update.
Have a great day ahead!
Thanks,
VJ
From reviewing previous posts I see that maybe refreshing the browser should work as you suggested and that is expected behaviour even for older Jira instances: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Core-Server-questions/quot-Updated-quot-field-not-updated-when-a-comment-is-added/qaq-p/921019
I also found this: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-74165
Otherwise I was unable to find any bugs submitted
Best,
Clark

Yes, I read in various places that Jira 7.x _never_ updated the 'Updated:' field on the page, always requiring a page refresh.
But in Jira 8.20.13, the 'Updated:' field was _always_ updated: not only on Description edit or on comment edit, but also after 'Add comment'. So a page refresh was _never_ required.
Now Jira 9.4.5 _almost always_ updated the 'Updated:' field: it does on Description edit or on comment edit, but +only not after 'Add comment'+.
That is the bug I see. (And yes, refreshing the page is a _workaround_, but I'd really appreaciate a _fix_. 🙃)
Thanks for searching for a bug report on jira.atlassian.com, the one you mention seems really different?
