In Next Gen why is the order of stories are different in the Backlog and Roadmap views?

If I order the backlog view I would expect the same order to be shown when I select the Roadmap view of child issues, however this is not the case. 

Any suggestions as to how to get these in sync or advise why this is occurring?

As far as I know there isn't a way to do this at this point.

There is more enhancements coming though for visualising child issues on the roadmap, not sure if this will provide what you're looking for.
