In a team-managed project, when creating workflow rules, can you use custom fields?

I'm trying to create a workflow rule in a team-managed project.  The rule is to check the 'issue's field.'  The field I need checked is a custom field.  Is it possible to run these workflow rules against custom fields?  The only fields that display in the drop down are the JIRA default fields.

For team managed project its difficult to add the validation for the user created custom field.

Its limitation and if you want to have this functionality then need to go with some third party plugin or go with the Company manage project

You may want to try using jira automation instead.
