Hi there,
I want to use time tracking in all scrum project issues by default.
If I go to admin->issues->screen schemes and look at the Default Issue Type Screen Scheme I can see time tracking is enabled.
However when I create a project and look at the Scrum Issue Type Screen Scheme that is created it does not include time tracking and I have to manually add it.
How can I make sure that all new scrum projects include time tracking by default?
I am using Jira server.
Thanks!!
Hi @alex.hendry
Time tracking is an Issue feature that is made available on jira, which helps us to have a track on the time required to work on an issue. You can check whether the time tracking is enabled or not by going to System->Issues->Under Issue features we have Time Tracking. Please ensure that time tracking is been activated providing with details of the working hours.
Then relevant permissions are required in order to log the work on issues you can find the details here.
And if at all if you are finding a way to automatically log the work upon the creation of issue you can find the link which will help you.
Hello @alex.hendry and welcome to the Atlassian community!
Jira will create a screen scheme dedicated to the project you create unless you create the project with a shared configuration. I would recommend you copy the configuration of an existing project that has that default screen when you a new project.
For example, I've seen many instances where there will be a project that has all the configurations desired for future projects and its used as a "template" only and that's the project where the shared configuration is copied from. Keep in mind that this will mean the workflows, Issue Type Scheme, and Screen Scheme will be copied when you do this.
