Insight CMDB

Insight is to be launched. I want to know:
1. Confirm that Insight is actually a CMDB and not an asset management tool
2. Will we automatically get access to Insight?
3. What would be the cost implications?
4. What are the timelines to have insight launched?
5. Any other relevant information would be helpful.

Hi Esther,

1. This depends on your definition of Configuration Management vs. Asset Management and what you want to do exactly.
   Can you elaborate?
   In my opinion Insight can be used as both.
   Perhaps this article will be helpful to you: Guide to configuration management databases (CMDBs) It is an article by Atlassian explaining both and their view on it.
2. You will have access to Insight when you have Jira Service Management Premium.
   In Insight different roles/ permissions can be defined.
3. Insight is included in Jira Service Management Premium.
   And for JSM you pay per agent. JSM Pricing 
4. Not sure what you mean "timelines to have insight launched". If you mean configuring the tool and loading all your CI's within it that really depends on the complexity and size of your data
