I have a window server 2012 with applications already running tomcat 7 on port 8005. When I try to install jira and change the server.xml to change port 8005 to 8015 and 8080 to 8100. When I try to start JIRA, I get 404 error and the log say that "One or more listeners failed to start". However, TCPView shows that both "8015" and "8100" are listening. Any idea on how to fix this?

Hi Nguyen,

Can you try the following and let us know the results:

  1. Stop and delete the JIRA service.
  2. Rename the C:\Program Files\JIRA folder (JIRA.old for example).
  3. Run the Windows installer on a new folder and point the jira-home to the same used by the previous version.
  4. Copy the personalized configuration from the C:\Program Files\JIRA.old\conf\server.xml and C:\Program Files\JIRA.old\bin\setenv.bat files.
  5. Reinstall the service.
  6. Start JIRA.

Cheers,

Branden
