Integrate Jira cloud with Azure Devops

Hi,

We need to integrate Jira and Azure DevOps.

The requirement is whatever changes are being made in Jira, including all the existing and new issues, should be reflecting in ADO end as well, i.e. the statuses change, and the parent-child relationship with between the issues.

Do we have any free add-ons with which we can achieve this, or any other way like using webhooks or anything as such?

Hi @Engineering Services

I don't know any free app which is able to do that. I have implemented for a client such a connection using Exalate.

Hello,

I work for Exalate.

This is true, Exalate will be able to provide the solution for @Engineering Services current problem.

There is also a free connection if you do not want to pay.

The paid version has the script mode where the sky truly is the limit.

Have a look at our website and you can see all the use-cases it can solve for your instances.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
Mathieu Lepoutre

@Engineering Services  hi. I hope you've found the solution you were looking for by now. I'll just propose an alternative to consider the next time you have to make this integration - a 3rd party tool called ZigiOps (you can find it in the Atlassian marketplace). it's fully no-code, does not store any of the data that's transferred between the two systems (Jira and Azure). It can be tweaked to fit various use scenarios and integration needs, all the necessary data will be synched both ways (if needed).

If you want to explore ZigiOps and it's capabilities - book a demo with the tech team or start your free trial today and explore it yourself.

Regards,

Diana (ZigiOps team)

Hi @Engineering Services

OpsHub provides a free Community Edition that integrates work items bidirectionally with reliable and predictable outcomes. You can refer to Jira Integration with Azure DevOps documentation for the details on Azure DevOps and Jira integration.

In addition to being free, it provides rich data integration for comments, attachments, links, and inline content, including the following use cases:

  • Format retention: Azure DevOps uses HTML text formatting while Jira uses Wiki markup text formatting; OpsHub supports format transformation strategies between HTML text and Wiki markup text formats for the integrated data without having to add an HTML custom field in Jira.
  • Field-level conflict management: OpsHub supports field-level conflict management for bidirectional integration.
  • Dynamic user mapping: When you integrate user fields like Assignee, Reporter, etc., if the username is not the same, OpsHub supports mapping the users dynamically, based on the user email id or display name, without mapping each user (one by one).
  • Data granularity: OpsHub supports data granularity (Intermediate state or End State only) required for integration for the use case. E.g., When the user modifies the status from Open -> In Progress -> Resolved in Jira, determine whether a transition with Intermediate state (Open -> In Progress -> Resolved) is required or a transition to end state (Open -> Resolved) is required for the use case.

Get started immediately by registering on the OpsHub community and downloading the free Community Edition.
Feel free to contact OpsHub’s integration experts for an initial free consultation on integration planning.

Hope this helps!

@Engineering Services There's no free option with the functionality you're looking for. Unito is free for the first 14 days though if you want to test out an easy, efficient, paid solution for syncing Jira issues with Azure DevOps items.

Here's a guide on how to sync Jira and ADO with Unito.

Several marketplace apps integrate Jira and ADO, but "free" limits your options.

The Atlassian app is free, but I don't think that's the functionality you're looking for. You might need to pay to get what you want.

Unfortunately Jim, this app only syncs development features and not issue, statuses etc.
