We are evaluating the Integration Hub Add-On. We need to know if it is possible to do a GET request in order to create an issue. We found Outbound and Inbound Integration. But Outbound gets triggered by Jira and Inbound gets triggered by an external application. We can not see how to combine an outgoing HTTP request with an inbound information flow. We want to do a GET request to an external ticket system in order to poll new tickets. Whenever a new ticket appears in the external ticket system, we want to create an issue in Jira. Is this possible with Integration Hub?
Hello Sascha,
Peter here from the vendor, this is for sure possible and one of the main use cases.
Sorry for not seeing this post, we did not get any notification on it.
We have several tutorials here: https://rixter.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RIFJ/pages/1105363003/How-to+guides
What usually is done is to send an outbound integration to an external system and using the response to create an issue as a child (all done in the outbound integration section).
You can also receive an inbound request and point to an action (outbound integration) that creates an issue, project, cf, or other resources.
We love to write new articles for different systems, so if you would share the system you like to integrate to we can add a tutorial for that.
BR
Peter
