Integrity problem with a particular user

Madhur Kulshrestha November 2, 2011

Hi,

We have a very odd problem that is occurring with a specific user in our JIRA application. Whenever that user creates an issue of a specific project and issue-type, he is not able to see the workflow actions on that issue, even though he has the permissions to perform those actions. This problem is always caught in the integrity checker, which does rectify this problem and the user is, then, able to see the workflow actions. However, the problem is that this integrity problem is coming everytime that user is creating the issue, and is becoming a headache for him as he has to report this problem everytime to the jira-administrators. Is there a permanent solution as to how this problem can be rectified for that user?

Thanks,

Madhur

Hi Madhur,

I replied to your request via the support ticket raised in our support system.

By looking into the workflow transition from your backup data, there are a lot of third party workflow validators and post-functions added into the 'Quarterly MBO Workflow-08-Dec-2009' workflow. To be honest, I could not reproduce the problem as I do not have the globallogic workflow transition available here. I strongly suspect that the problem is caused by the extra added globallogic workflow validator and post-function. To further verify it, could you perform the following:
# Create a test project
# Make a copy of the 'Quarterly MBO Workflow-08-Dec-2009' workflow
# Modify the copied workflow to remove all the globallogic validator and post-function
# Create a test workflow scheme and assign this copied workflow into it
# Login as 'vibhu.shekhar'
# Create an issue in the test project
# See if the problem persists

Please give that a try and let us know how you go.
