Is Jira 5.1 compatible with Confluence 3.5.3

We are preparing to upgrade to Jira 5.1, but are not yet ready to upgrade Confluence from 3.5.3. I just want to confirm that the newer version of Jira is compatible with the older version of Confluence.

To better clarify why Jira 5.1 and Confluence 3.5.3 is compatible is that since Confluence 3.5 and Jira 4.3 the communication protocol is "REST" and in older versions the protocol was "SOAP", so that's why is not compatible some Confluence and Jira version because the technology difference since REST is more simple and light than "SOAP" protocol.

Hello Ted,

Confluence 3.5 saw the introduction of Applinks and a the introduction of a new user managment system. These systems have been preserved in the latest version of Jira (5.1). Out of the box you should see reliable and tight integration between Confluence 3.5.3 and Jira 5.1. However, you may be using third party plugins in either Confluence or Jira that may not be compatible with the latest version of Jira.

Our suggestion is always to try an upgrade in isolation from your production instance. The idea is to have development platform mimic your production setup as closely as possbile. Any integration issues would then present themself in isolation and not impact your live site.
