Is Jira a good tool for developing video/animated content? Tasks include writing and design each followed by internal reviews and customer reviews. The current tool we use has a timeline capabilities associated to tasks and a notes/updates area for project specific information. It also allows us to track time to each task and manage timesheets.

It is certainly a good tool for a lot of use-cases and since. However, I think your best bet would be to actually try it as they offer a 30 day free trial. I feel like this would give you an unbiaised feedback from looking into the different features.

With the given information that you give us, it would be hard to tell you with certainty if this is a perfect fit for you and your team. It is certainly, however, a powerful tool in many cases :)
