Is There Any Way To Say @UserGroup To Tag All Users Within That Group?

Louis Lomax May 31, 2018

Business Process

Currently we use JIRA for cases in a software environment.

Issues are reported and a case labelled A4102 is created for Project A.

If the issue needs to be routed to programming, we create a linked issue labelled B1051 for Project B.

The programming team then go in and complete their work on their case (B1051).

Programmer then comments @QA to inform testing.

Testing completes their work on B1051. Now that its completed and signed off on, we would like to be able to say @Implementations or @Support so that all members within that group get an email notifying those in the group that their is a new feature completed by programming.

Once the programming team complete the case, only the watchers of the A4102 get notified. We would like to be able to easily comment a group of people.

If messaging Mickey, currently its @mickey. If messaging implementations, it could be @Implementations. This means that Mickey, Paddy, Ali & Sunilio get the notified about the comment.

This will really help with keeping groups of people in the loop for new and upcoming release functionality.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns,

Thanks!

Create a workflow that emails a DL when it goes into that status. Instead of using labels.

Your DL needs to be a user/security group if using AD.

Hi @Louis Lomax - As far as I can tell there is not a way to @ mention a group within JIRA. There is a request for this functionality JRASERVER-28225 which you can go to and vote for this feature.
