Is anyone else having issues setting up issue filters using a next-gen project?

I am trying to set up an issue filter to return issues linked to a specific EPIC on a JIRA next gen project. However, I get an error saying that the issue is not of type "EPIC" even though it clearly is. Are "Epics" in the next gen not compatible with issue filters?

Hi @Manu Lohiya. We have created a new work hierarchy in Jira to allow us to create more structure going forward. Providing backwards compatibility for the Epic Link in the classic projects is something we're currently investigating. And we've yet to introduce a JQL function for the new parent/child hierarchy. Apologies for the inconvenience while we get this sorted
