Hi all,
We quite often create copies of our JIRA instance in a test system.
Can we expected any issues on the copied system? I am asking because i saw a lot of documentation about separate tools to backup and restore structure information.
We want the copied system behave exactly like the original one. In this case will we need to backup structure information on the original system and restore it to the copied system?
If yes this would cause additional effort in our automated procedure to create system copies.
Regards
Dieter
Hi Dieter,
Yes, Structure data is backed up and restored separately from JIRA backups (although the backup archives are saved to the same location).
Best,
Robert
Thanks for your quick answer. If we do not restore the Structure data backup what would happen? Could we still work on the copied instance (of course without displaying the issues in structures) ?

You're welcome!
JIRA has no dependency on Structure, so you will be able to work normally with issues in JIRA even if you don't restore Structure data.
