Is it possible not to duplicate the value in custom field

Hello All,

I just want to know. Is it possible to apply Condition/Script if the field value is already saved with existing values and next time the user is saving with the same value it should popup error saying The Session already exists with the given value.

Thanks!

Venu

Hi @Venugopal Paladi

Perhaps this check can be done with an app from the marketplace, such as script runner, or JMWE which allow scripting. Concerning the popup though, I don't think that you can do it. Most likely you will need to develop something of your own and publish it on your instance.

Hello

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!

First, there are multiple ways to configure custom fields and the format is missing in your question.

Second, I am assuming the below configuration of the custom fields which won't let you add or select the same value.
1. Label format custom field
2. Single select custom field
3. Multi-select custom field
4. Check box
5. Radio Buttons

The answer to your question is there isn't any way to create the pop-up window via script because technically it is very difficult to validate the values of the custom field.

Let me know in case of any further help.

Thanks,
