hello

I am using jira for the first time and am trying several things with automation.

When using a checklist for an issue, I would like to receive email notifications on changes to this checklist.

I set it up like capture, but I couldn't receive a notification even though I checked the checklist.
(However, if you change the template value after monitoring "CheckTemplate", the mail is received, so there is no problem with the function)

How can I automate based on changes in the checklist?

Hi @최창환

welcome to the community!

My name is Gracjan, I'm Customer Success Expert, at HeroCoders, the team behind the Issue Checklist app, that you are using. Could you provide more details on what you would like to achieve?

I understand that you would like to notify via email the user(assignee?) whenever someone checks/uncheck an item in the checklist or make any change to the checklist, is that correct?

If the Save local checklist items to Jira custom fields global setting is enabled, then Jira will track all changes to the checklist in the issue History tab and Notifications section:

When it comes to Jira email notifications:

Users might receive email notifications of issue updates in accordance with the project’s notification scheme and their personal settings.

If you want to leave integration with custom fields enabled, but don’t want Jira to send a notification whenever a checklist item is checked/changed, please either:

  • modify the notification scheme for a project in Jira
  • filter out emails using the app name

Let me if you have any questions related to this.

Cheers!

Gracjan

I'm using the free version, not the pro version yet.
Do I need to use the Pro version to set notifications?

Hi @최창환

Those notifications should work also with the Free version of the app.

Please make sure you have enabled the Save local checklist items to Jira custom fields option, as this is required to get the Jira notifications.

For details, please refer to our documentation here

Cheers,

Gracjan

Hi @최창환 -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Using automation with marketplace addons depends upon how their fields / data are implemented.  If they are custom fields with stored data, it is likely you can do what you ask.

Please contact your Jira Admin to learn what marketplace addon you are using for checklists, and then check their documentation to see how to use the addon with automation rules.

Kind regards,
Bill
