Is it possible to backup a jira instance and load into a sandbox

I am migrating our parent companies jira instance to our Jira instance and would like to make a backup and move to a sandbox in our company before migrating straight to Production. Is that possible? When I move through the steps to migrate, it asks to choose a destination site but don't see the sandbox site I just created.
Appreciate any help on this one

I am a product manager for cloud-to-cloud migrations in Jira and I think the following may help you:

To test migrations, you may want to use a sandbox tool (not a cloud-to-cloud migrations). This tool lives in admin.atlassian.com and you can find out more here: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/manage-product-sandboxes/

Once you want to move data between production sites, you will have to use the cloud-to-cloud migration tool. This tool can be used as described here: https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/perform-a-cloud-to-cloud-migration-for-jira/
